QVEC Call Answer Times
For the period October 1, 2012 - December 31, 2012, QVEC answered 8,164 E-911 calls.  Of those calls answered, 8,084 (99.0%) were answered in under 10 seconds.  72 calls (.9%) were answered between 10-20 seconds and 8 calls (.1%) were answered between 20-30 seconds.  One again, no other center with a higher call volume posted faster call answer numbers than QV. The National Emergency Number Association (NENA) standard states that 90% of all 911 calls shall be answered within 10 seconds and that 95% of all 911 calls shall be answered within 20 seconds.  The CT Statewide average for this same time period was 95.2%.
